Are you an experienced accountant ready to take your career to the next level? We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Staff Accountant to join our dynamic team. In this key role, you'll play an essential part in maintaining financial accuracy and supporting our growth by preparing critical financial reports, managing reconciliations, and collaborating on special projects.
What You'll Be Doing:
Prepare Financial Statements: Generate timely, accurate monthly financial statements for manufactured home communities and investment groups, ensuring consistency on an accrual basis. Balance Sheet Reconciliation: Reconcile balance sheet items, including bank accounts, and follow through to resolve any discrepancies. Journal Entries: Record journal entries accurately and on schedule to maintain precise financial records. Lender Reporting & Analysis: Prepare lender reporting packages, providing insightful analysis when requested. Year-End Preparation: Assist in the preparation of year-end accounting packages for external auditors, ensuring smooth responses to auditor inquiries. Accounts Payable & Receivable Review: Review AP distributions and AR reports for accuracy in general ledger account numbers, descriptions, and amounts. Budget Analysis: Perform month-to-month and year-to-date budget variance analysis for designated properties. Management Fee Tracking: Accurately calculate and track management fees. Investor Reporting: Prepare detailed investor reports and financial analysis for key properties. General Ledger Maintenance: Organize and maintain a comprehensive monthly general ledger reference filing system. Inventory & Costing: Help manage inventory functions and correct job costing errors. Month-End Closing: Support the monthly general ledger closing process to ensure all entries are finalized and accurate. Collaboration & Problem Solving: Effectively communicate accounting issues to senior team members, offering solutions and recommendations when needed. Special Projects: Take on diverse special projects and tasks as required, making a positive impact on team performance. What We're Looking For:
A minimum of 3 years of accounting experience. A Bachelor's Degree in Accounting. Strong analytical thinking skills and a problem-solving mindset. Excellent proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Outlook, along with solid 10-key calculator skills. Experience using accounting software, preferably MRI. A keen eye for detail, the ability to multitask, and the capacity to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
